Our Stallion & Mare Services

Stallion Services:

We offer a small quarantined Stallion Collection Unit. We only take in up to 3 Stallions at any time to keep the environment relaxed for the Stallions.

The Stallions can come into the unit once they have had their results from their pre-entry health checks. They then can stay here while we collect enabling them to be in quarantine whilst they are being collected to fulfil requirements for freezing for export.

We have a small sunny yard with two double fenced light land paddocks enabling stallions visiting to be able to go out in a safe environment.

The Unit is based where we live and there is only one entrance to the site allowing us to keep strict control over any visitors. The Stallions are monitored with cameras when stabled. We also have the stud office on site so there is always someone here to care for the horses.

We are fully aware that any stallion is special to his/her owner and we look after each stallion as if it were our own.

Mare Services:

We offer the following services for visiting mares:

- Spring preparation for walking-in to Newmarket Stallions at Stud (Thoroughbred mares only)
- Spring preparation for mares for Artificial Insemination (Fresh & Chilled onsite - Frozen at Paton & Lee)
- Foaling Mares
- Weaning mares and foals
- Long term boarding of breeding mares for clients.

Spring Preparation includes:

- All Swabs and health certificates
- Teasing with onsite teaser stallion for cycle determination
- Onsite scanning of mares for walk in and artificial insemination

Veterinary Work:

All our veterinary work and Stallion quarantine health certificates are carried out by Paton & Lee Veterinary Practice.
Mr Tony Lock, partner in the practice, is our AHVLA approved Stallion Collection Centre Vet
